Come to the Sing-Off, as Skeeter Davis and Herman's Hermits Both Perform "The End of the World"!

Please give a big hand for Miss Skeeter Davis singing "The End of the World" live!

The End of the World
Music by Arthur Kent
Lyrics by Sylvia Dee

Why does the sun go on shining?

Why does the sea rush to shore?

Don't they know, it's the end of the world?

'Cause you don't love me anymore.

Why do the birds go on singing?

Why do the stars glow above?

Don't they know, it's the end of the world?

It ended when I lost your love.

I wake up in the morning and I wonder,

Why everything's the same as it was,

I can't understand, no I can't understand,

How life goes on the way it does.

Why does my heart go on beating?

Why do these eyes of mine cry?

Don't they know, it's the end of the world?

It ended when you said goodbye.

Why does my heart go on beating?

Why do these eyes of mine cry?

Don't they know, it's the end of the world?

It ended when you said goodbye.

And now, Herman's Hermits!

Alright. It's Skeeter's song, may she rest in peace, but I'm hoping that you were pleasantly surprised at how well Peter and the boys did with the same song.

Thanks to carlitors.

Gosh, gee whillikers, Skeeter Davis sounds just like she did way back when I was young.

As for Peter Noone, he's got a great voice, too, and I'd never heard his recording of this song.

As you know, I'm an amateur singer/songwriter, and here is the URL for my amateur homemade video recording of ME(!) performing this classic hit song:

Thank you.
