It Takes a Billion People to Pick a Head of Lettuce: Please Help VDARE!

Back in 1996, then-first lady Hillary Clinton took credit for a book entitled It Takes a Village to Raise a Child, which had been written by Barbara Feinman (Todd). The title was supposedly an African saying, though I believe it was made in America. The phrase was nonsense: If an entire village were required to raise a single child, no village could ever be created, let alone last. But that's multicultural logic, for you.

In the same spirit, I give you, "It Takes a Billion People to Pick a Head of Lettuce," because that's where the Open Borders Lobby, right and left, out of entirely different motivations, is leading us. But whatever the motivations, and whichever side ends up on top, it will mean a totalitarian slave state with the stench of the charnel house. The Leftwing version would entail racial socialism, starvation, and genocide; the Rightwing version would entail possibly some form of socialism for the poor, starvation, and genocide. The reason I imagine the dystopian end games as looking so similar, is because the conditions that will precede each version: Massive overpopulation; mass unemployment; shrinking tax base; exploding demand for government services; plunging IQ and virtue quotient; anarcho-tyranny; and increasing sectors of violent, racist, anti-American people; can lead only to totalitarianism, genocide, mass starvation, and all that other good stuff.

All the responsible authorities have predicted as maximum of only 500 million people "residing" in the U.S. by the end of this century, at present rates of immigration. But I don't buy it. I see "Obama" as seeking a massive acceleration via African "refugees," in addition to the usual suspects from Mexico, and Central and South America. The dumber, more dishonest, and more violent they are, the more he likes 'em, because he wants illegal aliens, refugees, and racist American blacks to serve as his private army.

My image is of a jailbreak, but on a worldwide scale, and all headed here.

But there's nothing inevitable about this scenario. It can be stopped cold--with adequate political will. And the way political will is developed--and I'm not shilling for any particular party here, because VDARE.com is a non-partisan organization--is through individuals and groups not waiting on anyone else. They take the initiative, and others join them. VDARE.com is not a political action group, but it is an intellectual action group. While others suck their thumb and tell their friends, "I hate this situation, but I can't risk saying anything," VDARE.com's contributors do the research, and the writing, and sometimes even give speeches that give orientation amid seeming chaos to others.

But that takes money, to pay for all the time that the research and writing and speechifying take, time which can't be put into otherwise making a living.

And that's where you come in: Please make a generous, tax-deductible donation to the VDARE Foundation, the 501(c)3 non-profit organization that sponsors VDARE.com.

I thank you, and your posterity will, too.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Stix
