The Smoking Gun Gets Its Talking Points Mixed Up: Web site “Reports” that Rep. Anthony Weiner was the Victim of “Twitter Tormentors”

The persecuted Congressman.

From today’s TSG mailing:

Before Anthony Weiner's self-implosion, a pair of the politician's Twitter tormentors apparently consulted with a leading Republican congressman on how to best spread rumors about the pol's online interactions with young women.

That The Smoking Gun would try and sell the idea that Anthony Weiner was somehow set up, and the victim of the piece, in which evil Republican operatives were spreading “rumors” about him, tells you everything you ever needed to know about TSG, which also explains why you never hear about black-on-white atrocities such as the Knoxville Horror, the Pearcy Massacre, or the Wichita Massacre, the Kirkwood Massacre, etc. at the Web site.

JUNE 6--The online duo who spearheaded a vicious months-long Twitter assault on Representative Anthony Weiner--whom they accused of improper contact with underage girls--apparently consulted with an aide to a powerful House Republican as they mulled over how to release information about Weiner’s purported relationship with a Delaware teenager, The Smoking Gun has learned.

In a series of e-mails exchanged on May 25, Mike Stack and his Twitter sidekick “Dan Wolfe” discussed a Tumblr posting by the high school student that they believed showed she was having “private conversations” with Weiner. Wolfe, who noted that he had made screen captures of the girl’s Tumblr blog, exclaimed, “This is MAJOR!”

Beginning earlier this year, Stack (a porn site moderator) and Wolfe (whose true identity is unknown) have carefully monitored Weiner’s Twitter page to catalogue the young women being followed by the New York Democrat. In several instances, they have sent tweets directly to these women “warning” them about the politician.

The insinuation in these messages--as well as in postings on their individual Twitter pages--was that Weiner was a predator….

So, what’s wrong with warning young women about a predator?

What apparently happened here is that the folks at TSG did not know that Rep. Weiner (D-Sodom) was going to fess up and apologize later that day for his indiscretions, lies, and slanders, and they were going all out to turn the predator into victimized prey.

You should have called DNC headquarters or the White House, before running the, um, “story,” guys, and then dropped it from your mailing.
