The Trayvon Martin Hoax: Business Insider Joins Mob Seeking to Lynch George Zimmerman

Trayvon Martin, l, and George Zimmerman

In the first reportorial below, NYU senior Jaywon Choe, an intern who previously edited the school’s pc student newspaper, Washington Square News, wrote a reportorial—an editorial disguised as a news report—that for all I know, he may even imagine is a news report. Note that all references to the racist protesters are in glowing terms, Choe doesn’t even mention any critics, and in his conclusion, he makes his support for the lynching of George Zimmerman explicit:

Already, more rallies are scheduled for today and for the weekend. And it appears that without more progress in the case, even more can be expected in the near future.
“Without more progress”? the case has been moving backwards since at least March 15, when fake “eyewitness” Mary Cutcher got together with fake WFTV “reporter,” Daralene Jones to promote the “hulking, racist white vigilante killing the little black child” script.

Rallies and Protests are Breaking Out Everywhere Over the Trayvon Martin Shooting
By Jaywon Choe

With protests and rallies cropping up all across the country, the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed Florida teenager, has sparked something of a national movement.

From New York to Los Angeles, rallies are being held to both honor Martin as well as demand justice in the shooting. And it seems everyone, including the president, is weighing in on it.

Thursday night, Sanford, Florida was the site of a massive rally, which featured civil rights leaders Rev. Al Sharpton and NAACP president Benjamin Jealous.

"Twenty-six days ago this young man, Trayvon Martin, did nothing criminal, did nothing unethical," Sharpton told the more than thousand people in attendance. "He went to the store for his brother. He came back and lost his life. Trayvon could have been any one of our sons, he could have been any one of us. Trayvon represents a reckless disregard for our lives that we've seen for too long."

Meanwhile, New Yorkers led the Million Hoodie March Wednesday, a reference to the historic Million Man March as well as the hoodie Martin was wearing the night he was killed.

Ralliers donned black hoodies and gathered in New York's Union Square, where the issue of race and police treatment of minorities was brought to the forefront.

One white participant held up a sign that read:

"Never Arrested 4 'Looking Suspicious' #Racial Injustice #White Privilege'"
While another black participant held one reading:

"I am a young black male who wears a hood, does that mean that I was to rob you??? No! I am a college student studying communications technology."

Elsewhere, students were taking part in rallies as well. Howard University students held a rally in memory of Martin where participants carried bags of Skittles in reference to the fact that Martin had been carrying a bag of the candy when he was killed. And students at Michael Krop Senior High in Miami-Dade, the school where Martin attended during his freshman and sophomore years, staged a walkout.

Protests over gun control have also cropped up. In Orlando, activists urged state officials to review gun permit regulations, while some Florida lawmakers are looking to amend Florida's controversial "Stand Your Ground Law," which expands the right of citizens to claim self defense.

Already, more rallies are scheduled for today and for the weekend. And it appears that without more progress in the case, even more can be expected in the near future.

LeBron James Just Tweeted This Powerful Photo Of The Miami Heat In Hoodies To Protest The Trayvon Martin Killing
By Tony Manfred
March 23, 2012, 1:52 p.m.

Athletes are starting to join in the movement seeking justice for the killing of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.

LeBron James tweeted this photo of the entire Miami Heat team in hoodies today, along with the hashtags: #WeAreTrayvonMartin#Hoodies #Stereotyped#WeWantJustice.

Say what you will about the relative effectiveness of Twitter-based protests. But this is still pretty powerful stuff (and a big endorsement for the movement) from one of the world's most prominent athletes:

[What a surprise, that black players in the world's most racist major league sport would support Trayvon Martin's "right" to beat a non-black man to a pulp.] [Postscript, Thursday, June 1, 2017: "To a pulp" should have read, "to death."

@KingJames

His teammate Dwyane Wade tweeted this picture earlier in the day with the same hashtags:

Meet The Man Who Killed Trayvon Martin — And Hasn't Been Arrested For It
By Grace Wyler
March 23, 2012, 3:42 p.m.

The death of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, who was tragically shot by a neighborhood watchman while walking home armed with Skittles and iced tea, has captivated the country this week, sparking national outcry over racial profiling, vigilantism, and sweeping "Shoot First" self-defense laws.

At the center of the furor is George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old community watch man who has admitted to chasing Martin down and shooting him twice. [That’s two lies right there: Zimmerman has not admitted to “chasing Martin down,” and he shot him once, not twice.” This is the same script the MSM used to try and railroad Bernie Goetz!] Zimmerman has not been arrested by local authorities, on the grounds that he was acting in self-defense.

Not much is known about Zimmerman, who has been conspicuously silent since the incident. He has alternatively been identified as white and as Hispanic, a distinction that many pundits apparently see as crucial to determining whether race was a motivating factor in Martin's death. Neighbors of the Zimmerman family told the Associated Press that Zimmerman's father is white and his mother is Peruvian. (Although it is not clear why Zimmerman's Hispanic background should rule out racial motivation in the slaying of a black teen.)

According to the AP, Zimmerman was a self-styled one-man neighborhood watch, making nearly 50 calls to police in Sanford, Fla., over the past 8 years. He took criminal justice classes at a local community college and even considered a career in law enforcement. In 2011, Zimmerman worked with police to form a formal neighborhood watch group in his gated community, and acted as the group's liaison to the Sanford PD.

A 47-page document of Zimmerman's most recent 9-1-1 calls, posted online by the city of Sanford today, paints a portrait of a man who was obsessed with law-and-order. Most of the calls relate to suburban mundanities (kids jumping fences, suspicious cars), but he appears to have been particularly concerned about the behavior of young black males. [If it that is so, how come they could only find four calls about black males? And since all of the break-ins were by black males, why does she sees something wrong with his concern?]

Mother Jones' Adam Weinstein draws our attention to these calls:

In August 2011, he called to report a black male in a tank top and shorts acting suspicious near the development's back entrance. "[Complainant] believes [subject] is involved in recent S-21s"—break-ins—"in the neighborhood," the call log states. The suspect, Zimmerman told the dispatcher, fit a recent description given out by law enforcement officers.

Three days later, he called to report two black teens in the same area, for the same reason. "[Juveniles] are the subjs who have been [burglarizing] in this area," he told the dispatcher.

And last month, on Feb. 2, Zimmerman called to report a suspicious black man in a leather jacket near one of the development's units. The resident of that townhouse, Zimmerman told dispatch, was a white male. Police stopped by to investigate, but no one was there, and the residence was secure.

After that, there's one final call logged in the report. At 7:11 on February 26, Zimmerman called police to report a black male in a dark gray hoodie. A few minutes later, that male—Trayvon Martin—lay dead on the sidewalk.

Tapes of the 9-1-1 call show that the dispatcher told Zimmerman not to act on his suspicions, but before police arrived, Martin was dead. [Another twofer: Zimmerman did not call 911, and the operator had no lawful power to order Zimmerman not to act on his suspicions.]

UPDATE, 5:24 p.m.:

A scan of the online court records for Orange County, Fla., where Zimmerman lives, shows that a man of the same name and age was accused of violent behavior twice in 2005, once for resisting arrest and battery of a law enforcement officer, and once for domestic violence.

The outcomes of both cases are sealed.
