Senseless Reporting: Why Does the Chicago Tribune Even Bother Publishing Crime Stories? Staffers Tease Readers by Letting Them Know that They Have Background Information that Would Explain Shootings, but Refuse to Give It to Them

Tymisha Washington: 11 year-old was shot, but why did the Tribune make an exception, and publish her name? The Tribune wouldn’t even give the names of any of the nine murder victims from the story, and only links to a story with one murder vic’s name.

The most dangerous man in Chicago? Chicago Tribune Editor Gerould W. Kern, is armed with the newspaper, and ink, which he buys by the barrel. Although parent company Tribune Corp. is bankrupt, the Trib is still publishing, and thus a threat to the lives of all unarmed, law-abiding whites in the Chicagoland area.

Thanks to reader-researcher “W,” who writes,

Compliments of this morning’s Tribune Alert. The headline should have read, “only” 6 children shot Sunday night. Regrettably, “the violence” can spill over to Michigan Avenue. Indeed, as we all know, whites are often targeted by “youths,” which is why we don’t attend Chicago Symphony concerts anymore.

“…a car pulled up and someone asked if they were in a particular gang…”

Chicago Tribune Editor Gerould W. Kern continues waging his remorseless war on the daily’s readers. Three years ago, Kern told white readers that the race of the people targeting whites for brutal beatings was none of their business, and ordered his columnists to tell whites that blacks were the real victims.

Why does the Tribune even bother publishing crime stories about the “weekend’s” shootings? (Where shootings are concerned, the “weekend” now seems to run from Tuesday through Monday. I also notice that I never see stories of stabbings anymore. Do colored Chicago cut-throats really refuse to use knives, or is not reporting on crimes committed with knives another desperate, hopeless method to diminish the appearance of crime?) Its alleged reporters refuse to provide readers with even the most basic information, even as they make sure to let the readers know that they have said information.

My hunch? Crime reporting is so fundamental to a big-city daily that the Trib’s editors know they must fill space with alleged crime stories, or no one would read the paper anymore, but they have no intention of publishing real crime reporting, and so they publish anti-crime stories that don’t give the information essential to real crime reporting. Rather than enlightening readers, and enhancing their liberty, the conscious goal is to leave them as ignorant, confused, and helpless as possible.

The following story refers to nine murders over the “weekend,” which in Chicago now apparently includes Mondays. “At least nine people were killed.” It does not name a single murder vic, and only gives the circumstances of one murder, a Chicago police officer (Veronica Rizzo-Acevedo), whose husband (Javier Acevedo) murdered her, before he committed suicide. Things being what they are with media operatives, for we all know, there may have been eight murders, since mediaites these days routinely treat murderers who kill themselves, or commit “suicide-by-cop” as morally equivalent to real victims.

Meanwhile, the majority of the story is about five raceless kids who were shot by members of a certain raceless gang, whose name the reporters know but refuse to tell readers, who shot the kids because the gangbangers believed them to be in a raceless gang whose name the reporters know, but also refuse to divulge.

In spite of the dishonest cliché, there are few “senseless” killings. Killers have motives, which allow us to make sense of their acts. However, people hide behind the cliché, because they don’t want the truth to be known. Blacks don’t want people to know that they raise their children to be murderers, and “reporters” don’t want the public to know that racist blacks are slaughtering and otherwise violating whites, based solely on the color of the latter’s skin, and that blacks have degenerated into such a state of savagery that they consider driving around and shooting members of rival gangs a normal, productive way to spend the night.

Meanwhile, people who live in the black neighborhoods where the shootings are committed know more than Tribune readers about the crimes. They know which gang did the shooting, which gang got shot (or which gang the shooters believed their vics belonged to), they know the names of the vics, and often the names of the shooters, as well.

A South Side shooting left four girls and a boy hurt, and on the Northwest Side a 15-year-old girl was shot while riding in a car as shootings across Chicago Sunday night added to the toll of a violent holiday weekend.

At least nine people were killed and at least 36 wounded since Friday. Two of the deaths came Sunday morning when a Cook County Sheriff's Office correctional officer apparently shot to death his wife, a Chicago police officer, inside their Southwest Side home before turning the gun on himself, authorities said. Three of the deaths and 14 of the wounded were shot between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Five children, ranging in age from 11 to 15, were shot by someone who fired from a car shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the 6600 block of South Michigan Avenue in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

The children had been playing at a park near an elementary school and were walking home when a car pulled up and someone asked if they were in a particular gang, family members and police said.

One relative said they had said they were not in the gang; another said shots rang out before they could answer. The gunman hit four girls and a boy.

The youngest, 11-year-old Tymisha Washington, was the most seriously wounded and was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition.

Tymisha, a 5th grader, had just hours earlier had returned from church and shared an Easter dinner with relatives. She was struck by two bullets, one that hit her chin and one that punctured a lung and broke her collarbone, her parents said.

Despite her injuries, Tymisha was talking with her parents from her bed in the intensive care unit this morning.

"She says she's ready to go home," said her father, 29-year-old Cory Lesser, standing outside Stroger's emergency room about 3 a.m. with Washington's mother. "She's tired of the doctors poking her with needles."

Also at Stroger was a 15-year-old girl shot in the arm. Police said her condition was stabilized.

Two 14-year-olds, a girl and a boy, were taken to Comer Children's Hospital after the shooting. The girl, who was shot in the abdomen, was in serious condition, police said. The boy was shot in leg, and police said his condition was stabilized.

A fifth victim, a 14-year-old girl grazed in the buttocks, was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center after the shooting. Because the girl was not taken by ambulance, officials did not initially include her in the number of people shot.

Early Sunday afternoon, two people died from their injuries in a shooting about 1 p.m. on the 2800 block of South Sawyer Avenue in the West Side's Little Village neighborhood.

A 33-year-old man [who?!] was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County medical examiner's office said it was notified of a death at that location.

Another man, 19 [who?!], suffered a wound to his chest and was taken to a hospital in serious condition, said Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada. He later died from his injuries, Officer Veejay Zala said.

According to a police source, the two men were traveling in a vehicle with two other adults and two children, ages three and seven. The men were shot on Sawyer Avenue, but after the shooting someone [?!] drove them to the 2400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, the source said.

[What is on “the 2400 block of South Kedzie Avenue,” that one would drive two wounded men there? A convenience store selling lottery tickets? A hospital, perchance?]

According to the source, police believe the victims were shot by an occupant of an orange or yellow Hummer that fled the scene after the shooting. [A Hummer does not flee a crime scene.] There was a later report that a car matching the Hummer's description was on fire in an alley on the 3200 block of West 37th Place, about a mile south of where the shootings occurred.

The Hummer is believed to belong to one of the shooting victims' relatives and it is not clear if there was a confrontation before the shooting. [Are the anti-reporters insinuating that the nameless vic was shot by a nameless relative?] It's also not clear if the Hummer was reported stolen prior to the shooting, according to the source. [How would you know to identify a stolen Hummer as belonging to one of the vics’ relatives? Did a non-related shooter steal the vehicle, in order to look like family was going to meet the vic, or was the relative a car thief who shot his own relative?]

Estrada said the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting were not immediately available.

Earlier Sunday, there were two other shootings in Little Village, each with gang overtones. [Which gangs?!] A 25-year-old man was shot in the abdomen about 1:30 a.m. on Hamlin Avenue between 24th and 25th Streets and a 35-year-old man was shot about an hour later at 27th Street and Kildare Avenue. In both instances, gang slogans [Which slogans, form which gangs?] were shouted by the attackers.

In other shootings Sunday and early Monday:

• About 12:25 a.m. Monday, a 23-year-old man was shot in the 9500 block of South Loomis Street in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side, police said. The man was sitting inside a vehicle when he was shot in the left arm, according to police. He was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

• About 9:50 p.m., a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were shot while walking on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of South Avalon Avenue in the Avalon Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said. Two or three people stepped out of a gangway [cute] and at least one of them opened fire, striking the 17-year-old in the calf and the 18-year-old in the arm.
The boy was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, and the 18-year-old was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, police said. Their conditions were stabilized.

• About 9:40 p.m., a 15-year-old passenger was shot inside a vehicle stopped at a traffic light in the 1700 block of North Pulaski Road in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side. Three people crossing the street flashed gang signs and at least one of them opened fire at the vehicle, police said. The girl was struck in the back and the driver took her to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.

• Also about 9:40 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot while standing on the sidewalk in the 900 block of West 19th Street in the Pilsen neighborhood on the West Side. Someone in a dark-colored SUV fired shots, grazing the man in the neck and striking him in the buttocks. He was in serious condition at Stroger.

• Two men, ages 25 and 20, were shot about 3:28 p.m. Sunday on the 6800 block of South Laflin Street in the city's Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. The 25-year-old was shot in his shoulder and was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The 20-year-old was shot twice in his face and was self transported to Holy Cross Hospital before being taken by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition was not immediately available, police said.

• Two men, ages 27 and 30, were shot about 9 a.m. on the 8300 block of South Ada Street in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, Estrada said. Both suffered gunshot wounds to their backs and were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition. The circumstances leading up to the shooting were not immediately available.

I hear one Black woman at work concerned with the new "Concealed Carry" law in Illinois. She thinks this would contribute to further street mayhem. A LOT of female Blacks apparently think this way. But I figure it this way: the woman has a bastard child from a relationship with an electrician who also was a drug dealer (She said they used to have plenty of money) so she is merely espousing how Black criminals should dominate the Streets to the COMPLETE DETRIMENT OF ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.

So I say it's a GOOD THING for Black Thugs to be killed in the streets by people using guns to defend themselves.
