Dallas: White Flight from Uptown

By A Texas Reader

School quality and limited space were deterrents for Amanda Blankenship and her husband, Greg, who moved out of Uptown. They craved more room for their sons to run around. They wanted to move out of Dallas ISD before their oldest son reached kindergarten.
They moved to semi-rural Lucas north of Dallas because they couldn't afford to both live in nearby Lakewood and send their pasty white kids to a private/parochial school.

Their pasty white kids would stick out in Dallas public schools like an Amish farmer would at a rap concert.

And probably suffer the same fate.

At the Dallas Morning Sickness, er, News.
