Intersectionality Battle in Oscar Nominations: Less Affirmative Action Gibsmedat Than in Recent Years; New York Daily News Apparatchiki Upset Over Insufficient Handouts for Selma

By Prince George’s County Ex-Pat

Interesting.

In other news, the NBA has announced a new “initiative” to find more Koreans who can play the position of power forward.

Donuts they can do.

But playing B-ball with the brothas is another thing entirely.

N.S.: The Daily News headline—“‘Selma’ denied historic march to podium”—is deceptive, in implying that Selma wasn’t nominated for Best Picture. It was, but apparently it wasn’t nominated in enough other categories to satisfy the News’ apparatchiki.

As Countenance might say, there was an intersectionality battle between hate porn and Indie movies this year, and indies won. I guess the Academy will have to pay double reparations next year.

“Oscar snubs and surprises: Oscar snubs and surprises: ‘Selma’ denied historic march to podium, complete lack of diversity in acting categories.”
