GRAND RAPIDS MASS SHOOTING,IN OCT 2016 IS RESOLVED

GRA: I posted this at the time it occurred. One of our bigger mass shootings—since Rodrick Shonte Dantzler six years ago.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — On the day his trial was scheduled to begin, a man admitted to a deadly shooting at a Grand Rapids strip mall in October.

In Kent County Circuit Court Monday, Jokari Lowery pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and a felony firearm charge.

This picture is apparently the full picture, from which the MSM cut out the picture at the top of this page. Boykin's family provided the media with a similar picture of him with a little black boy.

Man charged with Oct. murder at 28th St. strip mall

Authorities say that on Oct. 9, 2016, he opened fire at a birthday party being held at a strip mall on 28th Street east of Kalamazoo Avenue. Nine people were shot. One of them, 21-year-old Juwan Boykin, was killed.

Lowery was arrested in late January in Grand Rapids and initially charged with four felony counts.

Under the terms of the plea agreement reached on the day his trial would have started, the prosecutor recommended a 30-year prison sentence: 28 for the murder charge and two for the weapons charge.

The judge is not bound to honor that recommendation at sentencing, which is scheduled for Aug. 17.

An interesting sidenote about Danzler's rampage, was the fact that on that horrific day,I missed crossing paths with Danzler by no more than 20 minutes,at the intersection of Division and Fulton,as he shot at a couple cars.I had taken my mom to a doctors appointment,in the early afternoon, and was going back to her home.Shortly after, news broke on TV about his wild driving and shooting at that spot we had just driven through.I was transfixed the rest of the day.I believe that day was the eye-opener for me about Grand Rapids
and its future(concerning minorities) becoming more bleak than promising.
